CREATED FOR HOPE

Then God said, ‘Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.’  So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.  Then God blessed them, and God said to them, ‘Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.’” (Genesis 1:26-28 NKJV)

‎‎Close your eyes and picture in your mind, the most beautiful place you’ve ever seen.  Now, imagine it a thousand times more wondrous.

So it must have been in Eden.

Over and again, God spoke in creative power and assessed, “It’s good,” and then He made Adam and Eve, declaring, “Very good!”

So what happened?

As we look around us—even though creation still shows God’s imprint—we see something far from paradise.  Instead there is a world that is broken—shattered lives, sorrow and suffering, disease and death, woe and war.

The big question we ask, “Is there any hope? Can paradise be restored?”

The Bible has an answer.  This week we will see that there is hope!  We are created for it, and all will be consummated in what the Word of God declares is, “the blessed hope” which is the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ!
