as it is written in the book of the words of
Isaiah the prophet, saying: “The voice of one crying in the wilderness:
‘Prepare the way of the LORD; Make His paths straight. Every valley shall be filled And every mountain
and hill brought low; The crooked places shall be made straight And the rough
ways smooth; And all flesh shall see the salvation of God.’ ” (Luke 3:4-6 )
Do you know the Boy Scout
motto?
Since 1907, Boy Scouts have been
learning and living by the motto, “Be prepared!” That’s a great motto. In fact, it should be the motto of every
person.
The message of Scripture can be
summed up as, “Be prepared!” The Old
Testament prophet, Amos warned, “Prepare
to meet your God!” (Amos 4:12 ). The New Testament prophet, John the Baptist,
came with the same message of urgent warning.
The prophet Isaiah centuries before said this would mark John’s
ministry, “Prepare the way of the LORD,”
(v.4).
Are you prepared to meet God? There is not a more important consideration
for this life than making preparation for the after life.
Let’s make sure. It is deadly serious business. It is the difference between an eternity of
peace or an eternity of pain. Heaven or
hell?
The difference is in one Man—Christ
Jesus—and a personal relationship with Him.
If you haven’t received Christ, then you are without hope. Don’t live another day in that
condition! Trust in Him and turn from
your sin by repentance and faith. Then
you will, “Be prepared!”
